Find a Project. Prepare to Record.
The Performidi® platform makes it simple to earn extra cash recording from home. It only takes a few steps to get started on your first paying gig. Once you create an account and confirm your email address, all you need to do is choose from a list of recommended projects. From there, you'll receive all the info you need to get prepped for recording.
Choose a Project
In the Recommended Projects section of the Performers dashboard, you can sort and pick from a variety of available projects based on your instruments and preferred genres. Get the information required to make well-informed decisions about your gigs: view payouts, deadlines, expectations, and more — all upfront.
Once you find a project that looks right for you, click Accept Bid. This will take you to a page where you can listen to a preview of the commissioned piece before confirming that you want to accept the project and upload an audition.
Prepare to Record
After you accept a new project, it will show up in your Current Projects, along with any projects that you are currently working on. Clicking on the project will take you to a page where you can view resources to help you practice your performance before recording your audition.
Whether you play by ear or sight, we've got you covered. You can preview your project's audio and MIDI files online through our sample player, download MIDI files and accompanying audio files to play through your DAW, or view sheet music.
Upload Your Audition, Work on Revisions, Get Paid.
Upload an Audition
Once you are finished recording, upload your best take. If your audition is selected, you may receive revision requests, which include additional payouts for each revision.
Work on Revisions
If your audition is selected, the Producer may send you a message with a bid for additional revision work. You can either accept their initial bid or send them a counteroffer. Once you and the Producer agree on the price and conditions of the revision, you just need to record and upload your revised take. Then, after the Producer accepts your revision, you'll receive your additional payment.
Remember to keep an eye out for new messages, as the Producer might want to collaborate with you further on more revisions. Even after your first revision is accepted, the project will still remain open until the Producer closes it out. Once the project is closed, it will move from your Current Projects to your Project History.
Get Paid
Payment is guaranteed for all Valid Auditions*. If your audition is selected, you will receive the maximum payout amount specified in the Bid section of the Project Details. To learn more about payouts, read the 'Bid Payout Ranges Explained' section of our Payment Setup help article.
Learn From Your Reviews
Get insights into your music. Performidi provides you with authentic feedback about your skills from actual music producers. For each audition you submit, you will receive reviews of your take's audio quality, musicianship, and timeliness.
